I've been LOST!

It's been several weeks since I posted anything, and to my faithful blog readers (all three of you), I sincerely apologize, but I assure you that you haven't missed anything.

I wish I could say that I've been so busy with my very exciting life that I just haven't had the time to write, unfortunately quite the opposite is true. Although, we did take a three day I-can't-stand-the-cold-and-snow-for-one-more-minute trip to warm and sunny St George and Mesquite for Presidents Day which was very invigorating and fun but not particularly thrilling (we played at the park and took a long walk--that's about it!).

One activity that has seemed to usurp a great deal of my free time lately is the television drama LOST. A few weeks ago my husband happened to tune into it one evening and spent the next hour mumbling "what the heck is going on". So the next day he went out and rented the first season on DVD and we've pretty much been hooked since. This show is so mind blowingly convoluted and complicated that it is an absolute hoot. I get particular delight in the fact that there is a very authentic Korean couple on the show. It's fun to not to have to read the subtitles all the time and in a few instances I've had a little bit more insight on a situation because I can understand both sides of the language barrier. It's kind of fun.

I've decided that watching TV on DVD is really the way to go--no commercials, no waiting around for a week to find out what happens next and no planning my life around prime time schedules. (yes, I realize much of that could be solved with a DVR but that's not going to happen for us anytime soon!)

We're about half-way through the second season, so if you're a die hard LOST fan don't spoil it for us.

See, I really haven't had much going on. I don't blog for weeks and when I finally do it's about a TV show.

Sad.

I agree that DVD TV is the way to go. And I'm glad to hear that you and your spouse like Lost. I've heard it's a good show, and your recommendation makes me want to watch it all the more. I'd give it a try, but I don't have time to be addicted to a show right now. I've already had that experience with a DVD season of Firefly, 3 seasons of Northern Exposure, and 7 seasons of the West Wing. It's difficult to make your children go to bed on time when it's the parents in the house who keep saying, "Just one more episode!"

Sarah--I read your blog, that is when you blog. SO you can count me in as #4 unless I was already in the running. Owen and I have watched LOST since the begining. It is incredibly addicting! I must say without spoiling it for you that it is probably the most bazar show I have ever watched. Some days I feel lost in Lost. Currently, it's a little strange I must say. Tonight it was a story on Kim and Sun. DVD is probably a good way to go considering Lost is only on for a half of a year.

Watching the Thursday episode of Lost online is my favorite post-work-week Friday afternoon addiction. Today's episode made me cry.

Eric picked up a single disc of Lost from Blockbuster two years ago during Christmas vacation. We were completely hooked. He went back to the store for all the other episodes. We watched season 1 non-stop for two or three days. I then bought season 2 when it came out because it was cheaper than renting each disc individually. We've watched all of seasons 3 and 4 online.

I'm almost jealous of you because you still have lots of the story left to view--including multiple mind-boggling subplots.

I think watching an entire season of Lost all at once is the best way to do it. Mike and I were talking about Lost last week (he's at the beginning of last season, 3 I think) and he was complaining about how one of the characters wasn't acting logically. I hadn't really noticed, I've suspended all disbelief when it comes to this show.

Rob's into the show. I like the few episodes I saw early on, but no I'm totally clueless, so I sit next to him and just pretend I get it so I'm not constantly interrupting with, "Now, who's that? What happened to so-and-so? Wait--what's going on? Is this a flashback?"
